Mission: To provide accessible, fun & effective fitness motivation through epic distance based virtual challenges.
Myles was founded in April 2020 and we’ve been growing ever since. Users can start virtual challenges with a group or on their own. They then record their walks, bike rides or runs from wherever they are in the world. This can be done automatically through integration with apps like Strava. Users can then view their virtual location along the route on the map as well as useful and motivation statistics about their challenge (not to mention virtual trophies at the end).
Myles isn’t just another fitness tracking app. The science backed gamification approach coupled with the group and challenge commitment will take your fitness motivation to the next level.
Myles is available on both iOS and Android. The app is completely free with no adverts and corporate packages are also available which include route customisation and fundraising features.
Myles was founded by two graduates from the University of York. Having both spent the winter training hard for various marathons, they didn’t want their training to go to waste when the COVID-19 pandemic hit and all marathons were postponed or cancelled.
After initially developing the app to keep themselves motivated, they soon realised the positive impact this had and launched a public version after much demand.
“The app is very easy to use and is a great way to boost your motivation to get out and exercise. It syncs to strava so you don’t need to have multiple apps tracking your runs at once. Would definitely recommend”
“Great way to get that extra bit of motivation when running the same routes over and over! Only 10 challenges so far, but they’re long enough to keep me going for now. Easy to integrate with Strava”
“Super app to help keep up motivation for my runs! Love the partnership with Strava making it really easy to use😁 Love!”
“Love this app! Kept me motivated in lockdown and was able to compete with friends and family!”
“One of those things you didn’t know you wanted. Sick idea”
“Struggled to motivate myself to get my weekly miles in and this makes it so much easier by making it a challenge, feels so good to achieve milestone with this app!”
